2:53
So ladies and gentlemen
2:54
we’re gonna go and take a look now at the sea caves
2:57
the sea caves of Cape Grecko coming up
3:00
The name of the area is locally known as “the palaces”
3:04
the palaces of Cape Greco
3:06
It’s a natural rock formation
3:08
that formed a set of sea caves
3:11
Really popular for the old
3:13
rock jumping off in the summer months
3:15
off on the right hand side
3:17
we get all the young guys coming here
3:18
and lurching themselves off the rocks
3:21
So, the palaces, the palaces of Cape Greco
Chapter: The East Point Lighthouse – the furthest eastern point in the European Union
3:40
Alright, so ladies and gentlemen
3:41
just coming up here off on the left hand side

3:54
of the European Union, the EU

3:58
but wait till you get a load of this!

it doesn’t matter
5:39
whether you’re a vegetarian or a carnivore
5:41
you’ve got everybody covered?
5:42
We should have everybody covered
5:44
We have as our main meal is chicken
5:46
which most people will eat
5:48
and obviously we have a vegetarian option
5:50
and a vegan option
5:52
which is a vegetarian/vegan burger
5:55
which they can also have with a salad
5:57
that are available

6:16

6:18
which is very appropriate since the
6:19
which is very appropriate since the
6:20
the boat stops at the Blue Lagoon
6:21
So we’re gonna see exactly how the “Blue Lagoon” is made
6:24
So talk us through this
6:25
vodka and Blue Curacao
6:28
No measures you see
6:30
yes
6:31
I’m already reaching for the paracetamol
6:33
Lemonade, lime
6:35
and a slice of lemon.
6:37
It’s beautiful
6:38
but can i ask you a serious question
6:39
If i go and give that to Andreas now
6:41
will we get home safely or do you think we’re in danger
6:43
hahah, we’ll be in danger
6:46
OK, let’s take this “Blue Lagoon”
6:48
and see if we can get the captain
6:51
he won’t of course but let’s see
6:54
Andreas
6:55
Yes?
6:56
Your lovely barmen have just made this “Blue Lagoon”
6:58
yeah?
6:59
and I asked the question
6:59
if you actually drank this
7:01
we wouldn’t actually get home safely would we?
7:02
Listen, if i drank this
7:04
i will be like this, at the end of the day
7:07
so is better later on!
7:09
Should we go and give this to a customer?
7:11
yeah
7:11
A deserving customer
7:12
Yes, from us
7:14
Ladies!
7:14
Yes?
7:16
Anyone fancy trying a “Blue lagoon” cocktail
7:19
Give us a taste and tell us what you think?
7:21
(Lady off camera) Don’t drink it all, save me a bit
7:25
This is an Aphrodite II signature cocktail

7:33
and VERY alcoholic!
7:35
Well yes!

and now off on the left hand side
7:49
you can see a large building there
7:51
this is for a brand new
7:53
multi-million dollar marina
7:55
which is being built in the Pernera area of Protaras
7:58
and straight up ahead is the ghost town of Farmagusta
Chapter: Turtles and Dolphins?
8:04
Ah, look, here’s Andreas actually doing some “real work” now
8:07
What can i do, I have to make the paper job as well
8:10
Do you have to give a log of
8:11
all your trips and where you went
8:12
we have the logbook
8:13
we have to write everything on
8:15
Andreas, i guess everybody when they come on this tour
8:18
they all want to see a turtle
8:20
it’s not guaranteed is it?
8:21
No.
8:22
We had also dolphins a few days ago
8:24
but you never know where you’re gonna find them
8:26
like, when you’re sailing, they come next to you
8:29
and they make a show, jump in front of the boat
8:32
so, there’s nothing sure about it
Konnos Bay and Konnos Beach
8:34
Alrighty, so ladies and gentlemen

What to bring for your day on board the Aphrodite II Lazy Day Cruise
All you need to enjoy a day on the Aphrodite 2 Lazy Day Cruise is…
- Your booking confirmation
- Suncream
- Sunglasses
- Your swimming stuff (including a towel).
- Your phone/cameras to take some beautiful photos!
- Some cash if you want to leave a tip (see below)
- Credit/Debit card to pay for drinks (you can also pay using your mobile phone if you prefer – just make sure you are fully charged since this is a four hour cruise!).
You are also welcome to bring your snorkels and masks (highly recommended since the swimming stops are amazing!).
If you don’t have these, Aphrodite 2 provides them free of charge, but you must pay a 20 euro refundable deposit.

Good to know:
The cruise sails from Ayia Napa Harbour. Don’t confuse this with Ayia Napa Marina, which is out of town. See exact location details below.
Boarding is between 08:45 and 09:30 am, and the Aphrodite II sets sail promptly at 09.45 am.
You will return to Ayia Napa Harbour at around 2.30 pm.
Hotel pick-ups/drop-offs are available to and from Ayia Napa and Protaras hotels by prior arrangement.
Aphrodite II Lazy Day Cruise operates a full schedule, 7 days a week, from around the start of June until the end of October each year. However, cruises may be available earlier in the year, depending on weather conditions.
The captain of the Aphrodite II always reserves the right to alter the advertised route, as featured in our video, if weather conditions require it. This is for your safety and is not a regular occurrence.
Customers will receive a full refund or credit if they need to cancel (up to 24 hours before their scheduled cruise day). “No shows” will not be refunded.
Refunds will also be made promptly in the unlikely event of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. However, “no-shows” will be charged the full price.
Finally, for this section, while you may see turtles and perhaps even dolphins on some days, this is not guaranteed.
INSIDER TIP:
If you are making your own way to the Aphrodite II, get there early to secure your favourite spot.

Tipping/Gratuities?
Tipping the staff most certainly isn’t obligatory. Whether to tip or not is entirely up to you.
That said, we recommend you take a little cash to leave a small tip for the crew at the end of the trip.
We mention this because, from what we saw on our day on the Aphrodite II, most people wanted to show their appreciation to the hard-working crew.
The best way to tip is at the end, as you exit the boat, a few euros to say thanks will be greatly appreciated.
We can also assure you that any tips are shared equally between all staff members, so a few euros from each passenger makes a huge difference.
Our reasons for sharing the Aphrodite II Lazy Day Cruise

Our team spent a full day aboard the Aphrodite II Lazy Day Cruise in June 2024.
We chatted with the friendly crew and owners during our visit and spoke to many happy passengers.
Based on our firsthand experience, we confirm that the Aphrodite II offers an excellent, safe, and truly exceptional value-for-money family day out right here in Ayia Napa.
Here’s why we loved it and think you will too:
- Friendly & Passionate Crew: We were genuinely impressed by how friendly the owners and staff are; they truly love what they do! John, the host/MC, strikes the perfect balance with his helpful information about the sights, always happy to answer questions in both English and German.
- Relaxing Atmosphere: The onboard music is ideal for a relaxed day and never too loud.
- Excellent Route: The route taken by the Aphrodite II is excellent. You get to see so many wonderful sights along the way (see our video above for more details).
- Delicious Lunch Included: Your ticket includes a generous, delicious roast chicken lunch, prepared fresh onboard daily. It comes with roast potatoes, rice, fresh salad, and more; excellent vegetarian options were also available.
- Reasonable Drinks & Snacks: While drinks aren’t included, the fully stocked bar offers a great selection (their coffee is excellent!), and we can confirm the prices are very reasonable.
- Safety First at Swim Stops: We specifically noticed the extra care taken during swimming stops to ensure everyone’s safety and that no one is left behind. Plenty of life jackets are available free of charge.
- Spotlessly Clean Facilities: A delightful surprise for a boat of this size – the toilets onboard were spotlessly clean, relatively spacious, and even included baby changing facilities!
Because of all these reasons, we genuinely consider the Aphrodite II Lazy Day Cruise an unmissable day out from Ayia Napa for families and everyone looking for a fantastic, relaxing experience.

More about Ayia Napa Cyprus
Ayia Napa, Cyprus, at a glance
Ayia Napa and the amazing Nissi Beach (pictured above) is around 1 hour and 20 minutes from Nicosia, 50 minutes from Larnaca Airport and just 15 minutes from Protaras.
This resort town is lively during the summer (April to October each year) but very quiet in the winter, with just a handful of places remaining open.
The most popular months are July, August and September each year.
Ayia Napa is popular with tourists and many Cypriots too. This is because many residents of Nicosia own holiday homes in or near Protaras, which is very close to Ayia Napa and spend most summer weekends here. Nissi Beach is a particular favourite for everyone.
Ayia Napa is home to a beautiful harbour surrounded by Tavernas serving freshly caught seafood. It also has many fabulous restaurants and, of course, the world-famous bar street/club area.
