As you can see from our video, the Black Pearl offers a unique day cruise experience and here are the key facts you need to know…
The Black Pearl is an iconic tourist attraction in and around Ayia Napa, but we check first-hand anything we suggest or recommend on Share Cyprus.
Having spent a day on the Black Pearl (June 2024) and personally met the owners, crew, and many passengers, we are 100% confident that this attraction offers value for money, is safe for everyone, and that the owners and staff work extra hard to deliver fun and value for money.
As you can see in our video above, we met people who were on their fourth trip on the Black Pearl. These guys either really love pirates or, more likely, just love spending time on this boat!
We also love the fact that everyone is so friendly, the music is never too loud, the food is fabulous and, as mentioned below, you are never forced to take part in anything if you just want to relax and enjoy the fun from afar!
Lunch is freshly cooked on board.
Enjoy perfectly prepared roast chicken served with roast potatoes, rice, fresh salad, etc. Vegetarian options are available too.
Lunch is included in the price of your ticket and the portions are generous!
Drinks are not included in the price of your ticket.
However, two bars are on board serving drinks including a range of hot drinks ( coffee, tea, etc.), draft and bottled beers, wine, soft drinks, juices, and cocktails.
We can also confirm the prices are reasonable!
Also, if you still have room after the massive lunch, snacks, etc., are available for purchase.
Both bars aboard the Black Pearl accept cash, credit cards (including payment using you mobile phone).
Also worth mentioning are the Black Pearl T-shirts.
Normally, “tourist” T-shirts are pretty awful but these are super cool, well made and reasonably priced.
So you know, Black Pearl accepts all major credit cards for extras (and of course you can use your mobile to pay!).
All you need to enjoy a day on the Black Pearl is…
You are also welcome to bring your own snorkels and masks (highly recommended since the swimming stops are amazing!).
Life jackets, snorkels and face masks are also available.
Also, we noticed that extra care is taken during swimming stops to ensure everyone’s safety and that nobody is left behind.
As you can see from our picture above, several crew members are constantly watching during swim stops to ensure everyone is ok.
Throughout your time on the Black Pearl, there will be entertainment for both kids and adults!
As our helpful video above shows, many adults without children also enjoy a day out on the Black Pearl.
Something we noticed (and liked a lot) is that no one is forced to take part or made to feel bad for not doing so.
This means that if you would just like to sit back, relax, watch the fun, and enjoy the swim stops, that’s absolutely fine, and you won’t be alone in doing so!
Tipping the staff most certainly isn’t obligatory. Whether to tip or not is entirely up to you.
That said, we recommend you take a little cash to leave a small tip for the crew at the end of the trip.
We mention this because, from what we saw on our day on the Black Pearl, most people wanted to show their appreciation to the hard-working crew.
The best way to tip is at the end, as you get off the boat. One of the team members has a small gratuities box, and a few euros to say thanks will be greatly appreciated.
We can also assure you that any tips are are shared equally between all staff members so a few euro from each passenger makes a huge difference.
The Black Pearl departs from Ayia Napa Harbour (which is different from Ayia Napa Marina!).

We also have a dedicated website called Share Ayia Napa which focusses on Ayia Napa Nightlife and parties.
Ayia Napa and the amazing Nissi Beach (pictured above) is around 1 hour and 20 minutes from Nicosia, 50 minutes from Larnaca Airport and just 15 minutes from Protaras.
This resort town is lively during the summer (April to October each year) but very quiet in the winter, with just a handful of places remaining open.
The most popular months are July, August and September each year.
Ayia Napa is popular with tourists and many Cypriots too. This is because many residents of Nicosia own holiday homes in or near Protaras, which is very close to Ayia Napa and spend most summer weekends here. Nissi Beach is a particular favourite for everyone.
Ayia Napa is home to a beautiful harbour surrounded by Tavernas serving freshly caught seafood. It also has many fabulous restaurants and, of course, the world-famous bar street/club area.
