FAQs and other helpful information

What food is served at Seline Rooftop Restaurant Nicosia?

The menu at Seline is Japanese. A full menu is available above on this page (with prices).

Is Seline Rooftop Restaurant in Nicosia expensive?

Seline offers a wide range of food and beverage options which vary considerably in price depending on your specific choices.

However, as a guide only, allow €20 and upwards per person for food.

For drinks, expect to pay around €4 for soft drinks, up to €10 for beer and between €9 and €15 for wine by the glass and cocktails.

During our visit in July 2025, we spent €65 per person including food, drinks and tip.

Do I need to make a reservation?

100% yes, especially on Friday and Saturday!

We also recommend booking well in advance.

Seline is already extremely popular. We tried to book our table for Saturday evening, July 26th 2025, but Seline was already fully booked, so we ended up going the following Thursday instead.

Bookings can be made by phone or through Direct messaging on Instagram.

What is the best time to go to Seline?

Seline is a rooftop bar, but not somewhere you would go to watch the sun set (Seline is facing the wrong way for this!).

Therefore, as for “the best time to go”, we suggest that a later booking around 9 pm makes sense, especially in August and early September, because the temperature is cooler by that time.

This seemed to be the general pattern with Seline since we arrived at 8 pm, but we noticed that Seline filled up between 9 and 10 pm.

Is Seline open during the day?

Currently, Seline is only open in the evenings, from 7 pm to 1:30 am, seven days a week.

Opening times are subject to change, so please double-check before booking.

That said, when the weather cools down from mid-September here in Nicosia, Seline would be a “go-to” destination for weekend brunch and all-day dining, and we hope they will consider this later in the year!

This seemed to be the general pattern with Seline since we arrived at 8 pm, but we noticed that Seline filled up between 9 and 10 pm.

What is the dress code at Seline, Nicosia?

Based on our visit, the dress code ranges from smart casual to “dress to impress”.

What sort of people go to Seline, Nicosia?

The clientele at Seline during our visit was a mixture of young and older people, and everyone is welcome, including visitors and tourists.

We didn’t find the clientele during our visit to be exclusively “cool”. In other words, we didn’t feel like we were attending a place reserved for “social media influencers”.

What is the music and atmosphere like at Seline, Nicosia?

During our visit, Seline had a DJ playing what we can only describe as “perfect music” for this venue.

The music was chilled but familiar (think chilled-out versions of songs from artists like Dua Lipa, Shakira, etc.).

It’s worth noting that Seline Rooftop Restaurant and Bar has invested in a high-quality sound system, and for us, the sound levels were perfect. Loud enough to create a fantastic atmosphere, but never so loud that we had to shout to be heard across our table.

This is always a tricky balancing act for DJs, but credit to the team at Seline, they had this spot on for us!

Can you smoke at Seline?

Seline is an open-air rooftop bar and restaurant, and as such, does allow, from what we could see, smoking/vaping in all areas.

Where is the entrance door for Seline?

You need to walk down the passageway between the two American College Buildings.

This is a small driveway with a barrier to stop cars from entering.

Then, swing to the right at the first opportunity, and you will see a small, lit-up doorway where a host from Seline will greet you.

Once your reservation is confirmed, you’ll take the elevator to the 5th floor.

It’s also worth noting that unless there is an elevator failure, which is unlikely, you will not encounter any stairs visiting Seline (perfect for anyone wearing their best high heels!).

Do I need to use stairs to access the toilets at Seline?

At other rooftop bars and restaurants in Nicosia, you often need to go downstairs to use the bathroom, but this is not the case at  Seline!

The toilets are on the same floor, so no perilous stairs to navigate after your second or third cocktail!

Little details like this are always noted and welcomed by the Share Cyprus team.

Is parking available at Seline?

There is no parking available at Seline!

Therefore, your best option is the Municipal Car Park located under the road on which Seline is situated (see picture below).

As of August 2025, the charges are very reasonable.

  • Up to 3 hours: €3
  • 3-5 hours: €3.50
  • 5-7 hours: €4.50
  • 7-10 hours: €6.00

Parking is also available at several nearby locations.

Car parks in Nicosia charge between €3 and €7, but please note that payment is often made via an automated cash-only barrier upon exit.

The machines in such car parks take most coins (including €1 and €2 coins).

Don’t risk parking illegally in Nicosia!

Not only is this a pain for everyone else, traffic wardens are around most of the time, and the fines are unpleasant. Fines can be as high as €100 or more.

Our reasons for sharing Seline, Nicosia

We’re sharing Seline because we love it!

Seline is a welcome addition to Nicosia nightlife.

We loved our experience at Seline.

Seline promises a great evening out, quality service, classic and signature cocktails, and authentic Japanese food, and delivers on all counts!

Little touches make Seline extra special…

Designing, opening and running a bar restaurant like Seline isn’t easy. It’s one of the riskiest business models on the planet.

Seline has done a great job and it’s worth pointing out a few extra special touches we notice.

Wonderful design choices

The design is fabulous. The choice of colours and materials is first class and the seating is super comfortable.

We sometimes think some places make the seating uncomfortable on purpose so they can turn their tables around more quickly, but this isn’t the case at Seline.

Great lighting!

It’s also worth mentioning that Seline has thought about the lighting (thank you, Seline and your lighting designers!).

While the lighting is soft and low (creating a pleasant atmosphere), carefully considered lighting on and above each table ensures you can easily read the menus and see the excellent food that arrives at your table.

Superb Sound System

Additional notable features are the quality of the sound system. This sounds great, and the sound levels during our visit were perfect (as was the DJ’s choice of music).

No dangerous stairs!

Also, unlike most other rooftop bars and restaurants in Nicosia, you don’t need to go up or down any stairs to access the toilets or at any stage of getting in or out of Seline.

This means there are no perilous stairs to navigate after your second or third cocktail, perfect if you want to put on your best heels without worrying about a catastrophic tumble!

Value for money…we were happy with our bill

Seline Rooftop Bar and Restaurant Nicosia - Share Cyprus Bill
Seline Rooftop Bar and Restaurant Nicosia - Share Cyprus Bill

As you can see in the picture above, with two glasses of wine and two cocktails, our total bill came to €130, plus the tip.

Given that there were two of us, the cost worked out to around €65 per person.

Factoring in the location, the quality of the interior, the quality of service, drinks and food (noting that we couldn’t avoid trying the Black Cod!), we believe our bill was perfectly reasonable and good value for money!

Our conclusion about Seline Nicosia?

Based on our experience, we highly recommend Seline and suggest that it should undoubtedly be on your list, especially for special occasions.

We also encourage all visitors to Nicosia to try out Seline if this fits within your travel budget.

Observations and further information

No special treatment

As Share Cyprus grows in popularity, it would have been easy for us to contact Seline and make arrangements to visit. However, if we had done so, we wouldn’t have had the chance to experience Seline like a customer.

That’s why we just made a booking (in a private name) and just turned up!

Cards on the table, trying to review restaurants and bars like Seline “secretly” is ticky. We need to take pictures, some video, and ask a million questions, but on balance, the “secret shoppers” idea is how we can offer you a truly authentic and transparent review.

Introducing Costas…

We must mention that during the evening, we were visited on a few occasions by a very charming man named Costas, whom we thought might be one of the owners.

Costas genuinely wanted to ensure we were enjoying the evening. We chatted politely and said that we were enjoying the evening!

After finishing our main course, he offered us complimentary desserts. He seemed to like us! We explained to Costas that this wasn’t necessary, but in the end, we didn’t have a choice, as he had arranged for a dessert to be delivered to our table, and it was terrific!

At the end of the night, we paid our bill in full, minus the cost of our complimentary desserts (as seen on our bill above), and only then did we mention to Costas that we were checking out Seline for Share Cyprus.

He was delighted to hear that we had enjoyed our first experience, and we then had a brief conversation.

From the Skinny Fox to Seline…

During this conversation, Costas explained that he had previously operated the acclaimed restaurant The Skinny Fox, which has now closed permanently.

Suddenly everything clicked into place since there is no doubt that the Skinny Fox was an excellent and much-loved part of the Nicosia dining scene.

Costas told us that Seline is his “new baby”, but he has other plans too (watch this space).

This explains precisely why Seline is so good. Seline may be “new”, but with Costas driving this new project forward, it’s clear that the business is in safe hands.

We also asked Costas about his clientele, and he assured us that everyone is welcome. He added that Seline is looking forward to welcoming a diverse, international crowd over the coming months and years.

Now we have done our “secret shoppers” visit, we hope to return to Seline soon to find out more and perhaps even film and interview with Costas.

Room for improvement?

Of course, Seline is fabulous, but there are a few areas that could be improved, and hopefully, these will come in time. Here are a few things we’ve noticed.

1. No website or online booking system

We would like to see Seline add a website that includes an online booking system, as phoning or messaging via Instagram to make a booking isn’t ideal.

Additionally, as was the case for us, this introduces delays, some frustration during booking, and potentially leads to human error in the names, booking time, or the number of attendees.

2. Service Drift

Seline, like almost every other establishment in Cyprus, has the potential to suffer from what we lovingly call “service drift”. This is where service starts well but deteriorates as the evening progresses.

We emphasise that this wasn’t an issue at Seline during our visit (for the reasons mentioned above and our visits from Costas), but we respectfully suggest this needs to be monitored.

The cause of “service drift” is multifaceted, including understaffing, inadequate training, and/or staff becoming tired during the evening, as well as the need for required breaks, which, of course, people need.

That said, and recognising servers are human beings, the real problem is that servers are spread too thinly and not assigned to a small and dedicated set of tables, meaning when you want an extra drink, or to order desert, or even to get your bill, you can’t seem to see your server and if you do spot them, you can’t easily grab their attention.

This can take the sheen off a good evening and equally, hit the restaurant owners’ bottom line too. We repeat that this wasn’t the case for us at Seline, but the potential for this to happen is always present.

Erradicating “service drift” is hard, but it is part of what makes a great restaurant truly excellent!

3. We want more – let’s do brunch!

We would love to see Seline introduce a weekend brunch when the weather cools down. The venue is perfect for this!

We can envision ourselves tucking into something like a Halloumi Tamagoyaki, a Japanese rolled omelette featuring finely grated halloumi, fresh mint, and a touch of Cypriot cured pork sausage (loukaniko) for a smoky, salty kick. Or just some perfectly fried rice with Japanese flavours and an egg on top would also make us very happy!

Come on, Seline! You know you want to do this!.

Seline - legal status and management

Seline Holding Company and Directors. Who are you spending your money with?

Seline is owned and operated by SpaceX Holdings Ltd. (and we are reasonably sure that this has no connection to Elon Musk!).

SpaceX Holdings Ltd. was registered as a private limited company in Cyprus in March 2025.

According to official records kept by the Registrar of Companies in Cyprus, the directors of SpaceX Holdings Ltd. have professional ties to other businesses in the Cypriot hospitality industry.
